I am currently sat here immobile with a gimpy back due to carrying my gearbox out of the garage to degrease it (I think carrying it back didnt help much  ).
Hence my question - Whos done what when working on their van?
(Gruesome injury pics should be included)

A few years ago working on my last van i got a small peice of metal stuck in my eye.

I was using a grinder and wearing no goggles. Had to go to hospital to get removed and wasn't nice.

I always wear goggles now.

I currently have a painful lump on my head, where the engine bay lid slammed down on me when I was fiddling with the distributor. The bolt holding the number plate gave me good ole whack on the head  :?

I get the usual cuts and graes etc.The worst injury from working on my bay I suppose was from doing some welding on the front underneath and little balls of molten metal where rolling down my sleeve and settling on my elbow causing minor small burns.A few days later they got infected and my arm was really swollen, couldn't sleep with the pain or move my arm properly.Got some anti biotics to clear it up.

I got a worse injury when changing a clutch on a rear wheel drive transit,I had loosened the subframe and thought that I had left some of the bolts in enough so that it wouldn't fall down when I undone the bell housing bolts. Then I was going to get someone to help lift the box out.But I was wrong I undone the gearbox and the bolts for the subframe where not in at all and the gearbox came crashing down striking me right on the forehead and knocked me to the floor! Was a little dazed afterwards and had a big lump on my head.

Funny enough i was about to say the same, my wallet should be in A+E now ouch!!!!, would be even worse if my partner knew what i'd really spent!!

Ah yes, the money pits that are our buses......

I just don't add it up anymore, ignorance is bliss......

Just the usual rapped knuckles, cuts, grazes, metal in the eye, arc eye etc - it's a passion dunnchaknow?!!!

;)

This sounds familiar.

It's not me and not even when working on an early bay, but i think it's worth posting:

It's the finger of my friend Keverpech. He got a piece of metal in his finger when working on his '58 ragtop. It hurt...

My little finger on my left hand is presently a nice shade of purple. I struck it a good firm blow with me club hammer while trying to loosen a reluctant wheel nut!
