I wouldn't worry about it too much,it's only the minority of them that will be like that. It's a good job they're not the ones trying to organise anything though or where would the VW scene be?

Clem, I would like the idea of a club line up,I don't think my van will be original or polished enough to be in the stock display, although it will be stock height, wheels and interior just a different VW colour.

and i thought all VW folk were nice.. i was proven wrong.. by a bunch of adult splitty owners ... oh dear :(

i'd love a split, but not if i had to sell my beloved bay..

I got one for you

"if it aint a bay, you must be gay"

Carpark it is then, unless you can get us Club camping Clem? :?

Daz

Camping will have to be booked individually, but I may be able to arrange an area in the club disply area. :)

On a general note -

Im not commenting on the arguments here, but I thinkk that rising above it will give this place some dignity ;)

Is Tim Baxter on here still? His bus would seem ideal for the line up! (If not in the show itself)

Quite.....like others on this forum I have owned and thoroughly enjoyed my split, a bus is a bus......and I've owned late bays as well, and loved them too....

Carole

Here Here! :D

Personally I like the whole aircooled VW familly (though I was never 100% with my 74 westy), just a shame about some of the owners ( a minority who seem to view themselves as an eliteist hierachal overlord of all things dub )....My 71 is my fave and will be a keeper, though I'm still trying to talk Helen round to a DC....
My earlier comment was a tongue in cheek dig at a couple of SSVC members who seemed to forget that its a "Volksworld" show, which Rikki is busting his nads over trying arrange.... It just tickled me the reference to a plate surround that was intended as a tongue in cheek accessory been used to express some arses literal view point.

Same with me... i love splits, but i also love my bay... i just came up with a phrase to defend my bay, which got quite insulted by some SSVCs remarks, she looked sad after realizing that she was not welcomed by the SSVC..

apologies not necessary, that wound me up to! trick is to rise above
it. Funny thing is, in reality, your EB's are probably more rare than
the majority of the split scren van's in the SSVC! now that's food for
thought

Anyway moving swiftly on........

My mission, this season, with your help, is to get you guy's, involved in
massive bus displays at various shows this season, we are (it would
seem) entering this new display era gently, however by the time the
show season hits the big shows, I envisaged literally hundred of buses
in the type II displays! So maybe you guy's should start thinking about
organizing banners, balloons, etc and a team to help a bit if we create
a monster?

Displays at shows are the best form of promotion EB's could ever wish
for (that is of course if that's what you want)! What do you think People,
are you up for it?

I don't mind helping out at some shows, what sort of stuff needs doing?

With the banners and balloons and stuff, how will that work? I mean it will need organising and paying for by somebody.I don't mind chipping in my share.

I suppose the best way forward would be to introduce a seasonal fee for people who want to be in the lineups / camping areas at the shows etc? We would need to act quickly for this coming season and organise how much these things cost, because I don't have a clue, maybe start a list of who wants to be involved and contribute with the costs etc.

Im happy to help out where I can. Its all good. :)

As stated in the Awards thread that i started i would be happy to put an amount in to a budget.

What if we all gave £5 which i consider bloody good value for the amount of time and help i get out of this site.

I think we should start a new list, there are probably some out of that list that aren't even on the road at the moment or don't want to go to all the shows and lineups,or live too far away or in another country etc?

I just got a price for a banner, they're quite cheap,I priced up a double sided 2000mm X 750mm which is £48 look here.Maybe get 2 one for each end of the line ups https://secure.unbeatableonbanners.co.uk/_banners.php

Anyway new list start for whos interested in contributing time and a little cash or just cash or just time.

VWaircooled --------- Cash --- time
