Guys ...

Just to say, totally agree with Rikki on ramping up our presence at shows this coming year - and we already have a banner I had done last year ! (although it only got used once so far I think ...)

Im nervous about going down the money contribution route (and the issue of 'membership' has been debated before) - it can lead to disputes over control/what to buy etc...

From my side of things the greatest input anyone can put in will be time - getting things organised is where its at - we should start getting some structure together around this ..

I agree Mike, we've had the 'shall we make the forum more official' debate before - but I really feel that Earlies are on the up and it's a great time to try and raise the profile of the Early if we can... I just wanted to make public my desire to help where possible and see what we can achieve - if that's a donation of time or money I don't mind - but count me in!

I agree with your concerns on the membership contributions, I dont see that really as being the case in this instance. I too dont want to get into that club mentality and dues and all the crap that goes with it.....

More of a quick whip round for those that have the time and desire to see the forum up there, showing off their busses and getting the profile of the EB to the forefront.

After all its a few trinkets and baubles with plenty of free (Rikki) advertisement, and the effort of the forum participants when attending shows.

Not arsed in politics just like to part of a group of like minded people promoting their interested to others.

Saying that though i bet most who are paid up members of the SSVC do nothing apart from pay the subs.

Only just caught up with this thread...

Keep it informal - it worked well last year. The times we met and had our vans in shows were great whether we were in the car park as at Stanford Hall or Beachbuggin or whether we were part of the show at Vanfest or the Breeze.

Keep in with Rikki, if he wants our vans anywhere bust a gut to get loads showing up.

I'll keep the calendar going - a small loss is rolling over to next year but it's raised the profile and made us feel much more of a group.

I also still have the banner - we do need to sort out how to stand it up as my efforts last year were pathetic!

I work in the events industry as a Production Manager so am well versed as to whats needed to make things run smoothly and am happy to help out wherever I can, based in the Midlands so can get to most places.

Have we finalised how we are attending this show as EB, is it just in the car park camping with everyone else or is there any chance we could get an Early Bay area. I'm afraid Hank doesn't qualify as original either as he's lowered so I'm with most other people on this site.

Would like to book tickets as soon as I can but wanted to check in case we can get a space for EB's only

Rikki, is this possible?? (or have I missed an earlier post)
