Just put a new plastic dash on I've fitted the speedo, clock and fuel gauge etc I've gone to put it back I've turned the ingnistion on to check it all was well the alternator light came on then went off and I can't get it to light up again.

There is no power to the bulb I've checked all the fuses all ok I've checked the wire from front to back with a multi meter all ok there so I've started it up and the alternator is not charging.

The large terminal on the alternator there is 12v but nowt higher and the little spade terminal there is nothing. Cheers phil

Have you checked the bulb itself? Or continuity between wire feeding the bulb and the alternator?

You might also find if you bring the revs up a bit, to about 1500rpm the alternator will begin charging.
My alternator light comes on when you start it, but goes off and stays off once you blip the throttle. Its very common according to what I have read on The Samba
