Electrical question: fuel gauge/sender regulator?
I've had a Aug 71> one year only early bay fuel tank fitted to my splitty along with its corresponding 12v fuel sender. All has gone well, but apparently the gauge needle dances around a bit as apparently the early bay gauges normally had a regulator of some kind fitted, where as split try's didn't?

Does this make sense, is it a case of trying to get an appropriate regulator to fit to stop the gauge needle dancing around as the fuel moves around?

The regulator was only fitted from early '73 to the Bay gauges.
If you have a pre '73 tank you will have the tube type sender similar to the one found in a Split tank, albeit a different length.

Thanks. So would this sender need to have been regulated?

No, as it's pre '73.
What voltage is your Split Bus?
What voltage is the fuel gauge?

Yes, but what voltage is the gauge in your Split? - I'm assuming you have retained the original Split gauge.

Thanks, I'll double check… if it is the solution would be to either get some kind of voltage dropper (any suggestions?) or look at getting a new 12v gauge?
