ok so its too cold to sit in the garage welding so ive decided to start building an engine so ive got a couple of questions before i get started.
full flow case is it really worth it for a budget build?

will these barrels and pistons fit straight to an as21 case

last question how much do you guys think il be looking to pay for a pair of twin port cylinder heads second hand?

yes 87mm /1641 will go in.

i would full flow it. apart from some drilling tapping and labor it isnt a great amount of cost (filter head and pipe/fittings cost though) and it adds a load of security in terms of filtration.

i have seen some about lately for about £100 for a pair of heads. strip and rebuild and your away.

hmmm does anyone know where i can find a decent guide for the full flow?

obviously you can do all this when the case is split then wash it out so there is no contaminates any where.

I personally would go straight to 1776. In the grand scheme of things the extra money on machining would be justfied by the extra grunt.

ive just had a little look into it and it looks like i won't be able to stretch far enough for the machining. i am going to full flow the case it doesn't sound to bad to do.

just out of interest now so what is your spec you are going for then? cam etc.,

i'm just going for standard really. i'm not to fussed about power just reliability. i only thought about the 1641 pistons because there isn't alot of difference in price to the 1600
