ENGINE HELP!

[bay 1990]

Hi everyone.
Just my bought my first camper its a 1977 2.0 and I bought it with the engine broken. Just wondering if anyone can help me by suggesting where the best place to buy a new engine is or the best type to put in?

Welcome to the world of VWs!
Your engine is slightly different to those fitted to early bays. As suggested, try http://www.thelatebay.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . You will find them very friendly and helpful and probably more knowledgeable of the 'type4' engine fitted to later busses.

t4 engine :shock: everything is twice the price of t1 motors,and then theres the carbs.might pay to fit t1 unit 1776 or similar if you have 20L gearbox.pays your money ect
