My engine is out as a part of the resto. It was rebuilt in 2006 and seems a very healthy engine so I'm not planning an major sprip down, but I am getting the tinware powder coater. It's a standard 1600TP.

I've noticed a minor oil leak from the sump at the strainer so probably simply the gasket there. There is also a bit of oil at the front crankshaft around the seal but this is very minor. I've also notice petrol stains on the side of the card float. It's a 34 PICT I think.

So what else to fix. I was thinking: -

1. Rocker Gaskets
2. Front Crankshaft Oil Seal
3. Carb rebuild kit - What's worth doing and from whom
4. Sump Strainer Gaskey
5. Rear Crankshaft Oil Seal - Is this easy to do?
6. Full Clutch & release bearing - What make to go for

I'll probably buy a full gasket set. I was looking at Machine 7's as you get the exhaust gaskets. I'm changing the exhaust so that's oss and so are the Heat Exchangers for powercoat.

All advice appreciated.

Thanks guys

Forgot to say I'll give it a service, valve gaps, oil, plugs and possibly SP leads.

Have you considered an alternator upgrade if not already done and check/replace the inlet manifold rubber boots.
Make sure the thermostat and flaps function and clean out the oil cooler fins and replace the foam seal around it as it has probably disintegrated by now (use draft excluder tape).
Finally, consider changing the filler pipe while you have access to the tank bulkhead and possibly do your cv boots while you have good access (re-grease as well)

Thanks Jon, Got an alterntor upgrde already. Do you mean the Heat Exchanger Thermostat? Also got a new tank filler pipe to go in and will be doing the CV boots.

Cheers

Here's a great pictorial for a full engine rebuild.

Thanks, not going that far yet but sure there might be some parts I can use. The engine is pretty strong so hoping to get some miles out of it before I need a rebuild

The engine thermostat located between #1 and #2 cylinders. Make sure this is functional and the flaps move freely :)
