Had the dellorto 36 DRLA's, VS exhaust etc installed and sent the bus off to the RR for setting up. However they couldn't get the bus running very well and two days later I've been told that number 2 cylinder is giving about 80% compression compared with the rest at 140% and he mentioned something like a valve burnout?
So, what do I do?
:(

I think they are referring to cylinder pressure.
If you do a leak down test you may hear the pressure escaping from the exhaust, which will confirm the valve leaking.
You may as well check the valve clearances 1st to make sure it is not something simple like too little clearance. If that it not the problem then engine out and head off. Replacing the valve is pretty easy if it is the valve. You may want to check all valves and re lap them at the same time. Also a de-coke could be wise.

You can do both in situ, but it will be much MUCH easier with the engine out.

Think of it this way, the more you do engines in and out the better practised you get and the less daunting a task it becomes.

I think my record was 7 times in one weekend on my mates race car whilst setting the clutch up

It's just the working space to do it. Only have my drive and with this weather...
I think my trip to the lakes in the bus next week might be on hold.
