Hey all

can i ask how you can tell if your fan shroud is an original vw one or
an aftermarket one ?

I have one on my engine at present and 2 spares (bought cheaply to get the flaps)
and was gonna powdercoat etc but havent a clue what one to use :?

any helps fellas

Don't know how to identify, but with a lot of repo stuff,its lighter and any seams/welds and folds tend to be a bit rougher than gen. Might be worth having a close look and feeling the weight. Sorry its a bit vague,hth.

Cheap aftermarket ones have poorly made internal fins directing the airflow - I have even seen some that had none. Just look inside with a bright light and you will be able to tell easily.

well, they are reasonably heavy and seem well made and the fins
albeit a bit rusty all seem nice and smooth, but i havent got a
original or non oem one to compare :lol: :?
