Firetec extinguisher fitting

I've been considering fitting one of these to my 71 Westy but was wondering how people have fixed the hose to the top of the engine bay, particularly as, rather than the holed board across the top mine has the solid ones.

Is it a case of removing this and drilling specific holes just for the cable ties or is there an easier way ?

I drilled and tapped holes in the ribs then attached P clips and then then cable ties.
