I have a tintop EB, and I have always considered fitting a ragtop. I have been told by a few people that no-one in this country makes good ragtops (basically Paris beetles are the only people? so they didn't hold them in great regard, and I trust this persons opinion)

So my questions are:
Has anyone done it and got some photos and/or stories of the experience?
Does anyone know of any garages that have done this for someone?
Is it easy to move the cross member that reenforces the roof etc?
Also, if anyone has a paris beetles ragtop - show 'em to me (in photos!)!!!

From what I've seen of the Paris Beetles ragtops, I wouldn't fit one to a poptop, let alone a decent tintop ;)

Keep it as it is, IMO. Tintops are the best anyway 8)

I Emailed paris beetles and asked them about driving in wind/rain .There reply was they have such a design that rain will not get under the ragtop.
The van above isn't mine (photos I saved of web sites to give me an idea) but I have got a ragtop to fit sometime in the future.Devon with a shagged roof
what you get is two aluminium channels for the sides, velcro and rubber seal for the front and rear, press studs and two locking knobs for the front.Slots are sewn in to the canvas where aluminium bars slide in with plastic bushes pop rivited to the ends, these slide into the channels .simple idea realy considering the price they charge.I just dont know how they finish the roof inside pics anyone :)

Yeah, sounds like sticking with the tintop is the right idea for now....

To be fair....the grey/green bay above in the past two posts is my old bus and I fitted a paris beetles ragtop as the pop was fooked.

It worked really well for £350 and never leaked, even in the worst weather.

faux very nice bus, dont get me wrong they do look nice and cool on a sunny day.
A good alternative to a fooked pop top  Im in the same situation as you was
and picked one up cheap, good to hear they stand up to the elements :D
No way would I cut a hole in a solid roof  hence "DON'T DO IT" there ****

How well do the Parris tops stand up to damp/shade/green mould? Our bay is an ex pop top with a South african press stud vinyl cover over the hole, not a sliding roof, lives outside, and its in awful nick after this wet winter, guess the SA sun hasnt helped, is the vinyl over here different?
