Going to start fitting some as got some free time.

Can someone please tell me do you slide the trim on or push fit to the clips. I've got both the og trim & clips and tried to push but very tight, however concerned if you slide may scratch the paint.

Cheers

Mike

Push and indeed they are tight..take it easy use a piece of padding to protect all concerned when doing it ...

Cheers Araon,

I'll put some grease on the clips to help.

must admit Im not looking forward to that forth coming job

Me neither, also don't suppose you know how many clips should be fitted per trim.

I know the little ones to the front of the mirrors require one each...

Ill have a look in a bit see if I can fathom it out I know I snapped a couple of clips removing them ...

5 x long 5 clips each
2 x rear corners 4 clips each
2 x small pillar 2 clips each
2 x large door 4 clips each
2 x small door 3 clips each

36 clips in total

Hows everyone fitting the clips from memory some of mine were riveted and the rest were screwed in place? I was thinking of pop riveting them all in place wise or not?? I do have the bonus that there already drilled so shouldnt have any allingment troubles...

Araon you are a gent.
I'm starting to fit them in the next half hour or so. All of clips came with screws which would have been used to fit the trim in the first place. I'm using the screws as they are there but if any are missing i'll probably use my rivet gun.

Not looking forward to doing this as got the drill the body, but more importantly get them straight. Going to start from the front and use the door mirror as a marker.

Also fitted the front grille trim the other day and looks so much better now it's on. That was a pain not for fitting but getting in a decent shape as it was knocked in several places and had some deep scratches.

Must have taken me a good 5 hours or so with the wet & dry to get it looking decent.

6 hours to fit 3 peices.

Fitting them was a doddle and clipped on easy with help from Mr WD40. The problem was the sliding door trim peice. It had been painted some time in the past and i had to rub down with wet & dry that took off the coating as well as the paint.

Took me 4 hours to clean up with 400 grit. Looks as good as when it left the factory but not doing the rest.

I don't want the trim to look new.

Also took the front air grille off and gave inside a good spray of wax oil. The fresh air will smell a bit but at least it won't rot.

Also did inside the moon vents as both of these areas i gather will be exposed to the rain and corrosion in the sunny UK climate.
