Evening all, can anyone give me a ball park figure of what it would cost to convert my front brakes from drums to discs? Is it a tough job?

Cheers Brett.

The CSP kit is just under a grand, other competitors are similar. All these types of kits come with everything you need and are fairly straight forward I've heard.

You can cover to late bay discs i think but this would need researching...

what im going to do is fit a brake servo - probably a vw Jim one, which will work out at about £500.
i'll see how that goes and if needed i'll add discs.
Approximate costs
FUTBUS £900
CSP £1000
LATE BAY £450 you'll need to run wheel adapters if you want to keep standard wide 5 pattern

FUTBUS use a slightly more modern caliper, CSP have a long standing reputation

So il aim at around a grand then? That's dearer than I thought, but then again you can't put a price on your safety. best get saving.

I'm very happy with them.

Same with the CSP kit , although you will need to buy wheel nuts as the CSP kit for standard 14" rims has studs.

I have got to say that it's a lovely bit of kit , to noce to vover up with hub caps, although to be very fair the Fat bus kit looks equally as good and it's runs vented discs, where as mine on the CSP are solid.

Hobsons choice really....

I have a CSP kit fitted to the front of Murphy - no servo and the brakes are great.

Wonderful quality kit.

A great upgrade if you don't want to adjust drums all the time

944 NA hubs fit EB spindles, complete front ends go for around £400 tho you will be fitting see parts whereas the other options will be new kit. Pays your money.....

I decided that actually I'd get the red9 wishbone kit and gain modern steering and fully adjustable suspension at the same time, but that costs more again....

944 front and rear here,,, depends on wheel choice as 944 is 130 PCD can be done cheaper than 400 as well depending on second hand parts

What kit is it that uses the Willwood cailpers? I think Jesus runs them???
