Can someone please confirm if i have to buy a complete window sash with chrome trim just to replace the rubber scraper.

Only just found out that mine really let in the water in to the frame of the doors.

Any advice welcome.

Cheers

Mike

I'm going to say http://www.wolfsburgwest.com
can't fault their rubber and chrome parts.

They are a right pain in the rear to fit!! stupid flimsy clips that ping off all over the shop!1

I heard that they still let in water when renewed...hense making sure the rubber linned holes at the bottom of the doors are kept clear to allow the water to run out...This prevents the outer skin and bottom of the door from rotting out but does feck all for your inner step!

I got some from Status, theyve been spot on quality wise for everything else rubber wise.

They are meant to let water in by design, as Smudge says - hence the drain holes and plastic liner.

Ive yet to fit mine, the ones in there are perished proper hardcore.

Mine let in loads of water as tested with a watering can and couldn't believe the amount than fell in to the door bottoms. The liner was also ripped and water has soaked into the door panel.

Think I've got another job

Water will get in no matter what!

I renewed the plastic liner on my first bay and it stopped any water coming into the bus, the water just drained out of the holes at the bottom.

Does anyone have pictures or details of the plastic liner?

all 4 doors I own are bare inside, no plastic or owt...

Theres a little confusion her to what plastic linner/rubber i was refering too.

Plastic linner....is a clear plastic the is stuck to the door and the door card...as a new car has when you remove the door card....

The rubber is a tube or gromit if you like that sits in the holes of the underside of the door in the drain hole...it prevents the edge of the drain hole from rotting...

My first van had no plastis linners so i got some thin gauge clear plasic from the building centner..used capet stray adheasive to stick it then cut around the door with a trimming knife..Before i did this i clean the whole of the bottom of the door out...treated it and renewed the rubber bung in the drain hole.

I did a write up on replacing all the scrapers and seals for cab doors for another forum. If it'll be any use let me know and I'll post it in here somewhere?
