Probably a daft question. I am about to have Stanley repainted and was going to replace the 7" VW badge for a 10" badge. When i took off the smaller badge I only then noticed that it sits on a raised section of the van front panel which has 3 fixing holes.
The question is. Am I restricted to the smaller badge or will the larger one fit a 68 Bay :?

Having problems attaching a photo, will need to learn how to do this correctly!

All the panels have been replaced on Stan and from looking from under the dash you can see where there are cut outs for late bay indicators but Stan has his mounted low down. So you are prob correct about it being a later front end.

Can I take it that the larger badge only fits vans that don't have the raised bit on the front panel

Without some body work modification, you'll have to keep the smaller badge.

Thanks for the link to photobucket, will sign up later.

Looks like it's the smaller badge after all, on the bright side they are less expensive :D

Thanks

Have loads of questions but am searching through old forums for answers before asking. Like how to fit the new petrol flap spring I have just purchased  LOL

Ah......I could do with one of those! Mine is there but lost its power - two bits of Blu-tac currently stopping my flap opening, did you buy NOS or get it S/H?

Hi Spence

got brand new spring from megabus, who were very helpfull. I thought it would be a simple fit and I am sure it will be if I had seen the original spring fitted, but mine was missing. :(

Hi Andy

Here's a photo of my dodgy one, I'm guessing you have to unscrew the flap and all its gubbings and then it's can be fitted correctly?

Cheers for the lead - do you mean Megabug?

 Correct megabug, and thanks for taking the picture of the spring location, that's a job for tonight ;)

Cheers

No worries,
Thinking about it, before I order one I'm gonna take mine off and bend it a bit to see if there's an improvement .....you never know!

The nice new shiny spring is extremely stiff, so good luck with the bending. I had previously ordered from ebay a secondhand flap complete with spring but when it arrived guess what was missing?, anyway they accepted they had made a mistake and refunded my £25 back less postage and packaging.

If you are going to have your bus repainted, why not get the front panel sorted out so that it is correct for a 68 bus (raised area removed)...and then you have fit the correct 10" badge too :)
