Fuel gauge issues

Hi folks, just thought i would ask and see if anyone can shed some light on my problem before i just go and get new bits.

My fuel gauge will only read half full, even with tank filled to the brim. It does go down as using it till you have used half a tank and then will read empty so have to guess from there. I dont know if the fuel sender has gone or the fuel stabilizer.

any thoughts?

'69 Buses don't have a stabiliser so it won't be that!
Most gauge problems are sender related.

oh right, its on my 68 but guess that will be the same.
i will replace the sender then and see if that helps. cheers.

Might be worth checking the sender before putting everything back - one I bought about a year or so ago didn't work so it all had to be done again!

yeah good advice, i almost made that mistake when replaced it on my camper.
this is on my pickup so its not an engine out job this time, means it shouldnt be too bad......he says :roll:
