Fuel Guage reads full with lights on

Hi All

Had my dash out yesterday to change from a KPH to MPH speedo and now the fuel gauge shoots up to full if i turn the lights on , and jumps up and down when i use the indicators ? the back plate shows earth on the tester and was all ok before i changed the speedo over , what have i done wrong ? whats not right ?

It will be a dodgy connection somewhere, I managed to pull a spade off the back of the fuse box when I last had my dash out to change a bulb and I too had some thing similar going on with my fuel gauge when I put the brakes on.

Hi

Well the speedo cable seems to be magic , as when i reattach it al is right again with the gauges ? seems to be giving me an earth ? Or its just that with the dash back in position a dodgy cable is ok again! its working for now so will leave it be for the moment , and hope it doesn't go wrong first time i go over a bump !!
