Fitting a 2110 engine into a 71 bay which has twin webber 44's with 8mm fuel connections. Also have a cb rotary fuel pump connected under the tank with 8mm connections also. The included fuel filter has the 8mm ends too.
Do I bin the cb filter and replace it with a stepped cheap plastic one to step up the fuel tank smaller diameter hose to 8mm hose?
Then what do people do to get the 8mm hose from the pump through the tinware as the metal pipe on my 1600 engine looks about 5mm internal diam.
Do you find a wider diameter fuel pipe ( if so what type ? 8mm brake pipe?)or just put the 8mm hose through a bigger hole with a bigger grommet to stop in chaffing.

Will the reduced diameter hose feed from the tank to the filter effect the running of the carbs? The pump is rated at 3.5 psi.

Hope someone can help. Thanks

fitted a cb rotary pump to mine a while back, used a stepped joint I got off ebay 6mm/8mm iirc for a couple of quid. I then routed the fuel hose through the hole to the LHS of the tin (on a 72) i.e. it comes through the chassis with a big grommet to keep it chafe free then on to my LHS carb.
Will try and takes pics tomorrow if that helps?

Pics. would be helpful thanks. Presume then that you used the supplied fuel filter? What carbs are you using and did the step down to 6mm make any difference to their general running?

yes I kept the supplied filter, running 36 drlas on a 1700 type 1 - everything seems to be running nicely & have done a good few miles on it now.
