Fuel Pump

Good start to the weekend I was going to Dub-int-dales but my Alternator bearings packed up cheap Chinese rubbish no doubt, I dont think I got two thousand miles out of it anyway ordered another cheap Chinese alternator and noted my OG mechanical fuel pump is getting a bit worn the brass tubes are becoming a bit loose so wondered if anyone had any thoughts on how I could make the brass tubes a tight fit again? Not possible probably so maybe safer to fit a electric pump so which one would be best - a solid state which I have heard can be a bit noisy or a Posi-flow one. Looks like I am now going to Dubs int dales tomorrow

Hi Ade, same as carbs I suppose. Pull it apart, clean everything within an inch of its life, slightly rough the surfaces, get your loctite ready, warm up the pump chill down the brass, glue it back together with a bit of a tap from a sledge hammer or a little pein type and just keep an eye on it but there’s not much too them.
