I've got a 71 LHD US bay. I'm putting it back together after a full bare metal rebuild and I'm at the wiring stage.

My fuse box appears to have 3 spaces for relays? I only removed 2 when I took everything apart (Indicator & headlight flasher).
What's the other position for? Does a buzzer fit in there?

I would only expect you to have a load relay for your lights and a flasher unit for your indicators. The other slot could be for any optional extra that VW would have fitted- not specifically on your van. These things were used all over the place, so a van in iceland may be fitted with a fuel burning heater or sump heater, a van in california may have an air-con system, etc. just ignore it, or use it if you fit any accessory that really sucks juice :)
