folks.

This wintery weather has kicked my ass into gear to try to sort out a garage for my bus. I have a concrete slab at my house which prviously had a wooden garage on it that the owner before me took down

the slab is about 20 foot long and 12 foot wide, Anybody got a 12 foot wide garage that they park there bay in that could take a photo of it for me. I would like to be able to try to work on the bus in the garage, clearly I will have room to get the the front or back but how much room will I have down the sides at that width. Standing and looking at the bus you would think 12 foot is more than enough but I suspect a 12 foot wide garage wont give you 12 foot wide internal space ?

Mines 8 foot wide, working on the bus in there involves lots of swearing, banging my head and bloody knuckles. I no longer work on it in there. But it fits and it's dry

I bought a used prefab garage on eBay I think it was like the one above 12 x 19ft. Ill get u a pic when it's light. Or just look at some pics I've posted before.
Beware though if u go for a used one taking it down & building it was ok but transporting it you will need a lorry! Lucky my mate has a haulage business but he reckoned the weight of the garage was way heavier than 7.5 ton. We used a 12.5ton lorry. Each panel is seriously heavy and awkward.
Space wise it's great if I park the bus hard against one wall ice still got room to work on the side plus space for my bench, shelves, bike etc. if you didn't have any if that crap in there u could park straight down the middle with enough room to swing next doors cat.

Cheers for the replies and info. Photos would be great jammac. I was looking at some wooden ones on eBay but its difficult to tell from photos of an empty garage how much space there really is.

Thanks for the eBay link. If it stays at 99p I might look into transport costs

Hi Pete here's some pics from my resto thread that I've never updated! Haven't had a chance to take any new ones its too cold!!! Hope they help both from when I was building it. It came with an asbestos concrete roof which I dumped (not in a lay by) I then relaxed it with bitumen fibre sheets.

12 foot wide is plenty to work on both sides, so long as you keep both sides clear of anything. mine's 12 x 40 so have a bit of space further into the garage ;)
20 foot should give you space for a nice working bench/toolchest etc....just don't fill it with mowers, bikes or any other non vehicle ****!
