Generator light flickering

Hi all.

My genny light has started to flicker, we had a problem with a wire that was frayed but replaced that and this morning I noticed a flickering and very dim genny warning light on.

I'm thinking maybe the alternator bushes need looking at however is there anything else I should be checking whilst I'm there?

Fan belt adjustment, loose connections?

Might even need a new set of brushes in it.

Does it only happen when idling or all the time?

Well whatever it is has killed my bus, doh.

Genny lights came on a few times yesterday evening on journey back from VW action, the bus even juddered a few times.

Got me home ok.

Go to try it this morning and it has full power to both batteries but not enough to turn her over. There must be a fault there somewhere!!!

AA man in route (thank dog for homestart etc :lol: )

Mind, one year on and this is the first proper fault so can't complain.

Stoooooopid starter motor connection - doh.

I couldn't even get under to fix it because i broke/cracked some ribs at vw action this weekend doh.
