Just watching the BBC coverage of Glasto and wishing I was there again.
Around 4 years ago since we last went and had a great time and the coverage has wetted our appetite again :D
Going to register tomorrow to get tickets for the 2013 venue - downside is the kids won't be free si will be close to £1k for the four of us............

Wife already said that she will be staying in a hotel while me and my lad will be in the van (assuming it will be on the road by then.................. )

Any one else fancy this and if so, create an EB area (if allowed)??

1K for four? [eek] + [yipes] smiley

Makes a lot of things people complain about (the price of) look good value IMO

(from somebody who saw the Stones in Hyde Park and watched Hendrix play at the isle of white  )

I'll be trying for 2013 tickets after failing this year. It's about 500 for us, but it's not the price of things sometimes but the value ... :)

In the '70's (can't remember which exact year) it cost £1 to get in and you got free milk

When we went last time, it was just under £400 as the kids were under 12 so went free, but the number of bands we got to see made it seem cheap, plus the atmosphere - just can't get that anywhere else

wathced the coldplay coverage last night and it looked ace. think the price of all festivals is a bit steep nowadays but at least a bit of what you give at glasto goes towards a good cause as opposed to filling the pockets of mean fiddler or virgin.

a friend of mine at work spent the best part of 900 notes to go to the isle of white fest, and that was just for him

£200 ticket
£100 for his share of the ferry
£75 for his share of the tangerine field (pre built tent for the lazy snob  )
£90 fuel there and back
plus spending money.

seems a long way off from the reading fest that ii went to for years in a row back in the 90's

they'll be selling fast track, front row tickets next for festivals like alton towers do. :D

This would only be possible if ewvryone got passes for the same campervan field and all congregated elsewhere and convoyed in together .... so in reality, unlikley.

Kill joy

As a low-cost alternative this festival has a great atmosphere
plus reasonable priced ale, no queing for the khazi etc.. etc..

I have been for the past 4 or 5 years cos I can pushbike there from my house
(well I could but they moved it 10 miles this year (pant..) - always enough
on to keep me well entertained.

Try it you might like it..

I've just got back and its was fantastic. When you add the cost up its not that bad.

£400 tickets me and the missus
£75 camper pass even though the bus wasn't ready we took the eriba.
about £300 on everything else

So £775 alot of money but we have seen over 25 bands, if you worked on £20 a ticket to see them all thats a £1000 with out even having a drink and you won't every have an experience like glastonbury.

So get saving and go in 2013 as i've justified it for everyone, enjoy. :)
