I have been on here for a few years now and finally getting round to starting a thread. I have put up a few posts/pics......help needed with pics although, not very tech minded!
Brought it in April '21 and thoroughly enjoying it.
I have been into VW's since the early '90s and have had a Beetle, 3 Type 3's (one I still own, brought in '94) and this Bus.
Got a Bus full of parts when I brought it and finally gone through the last few today. It doesn't have the original interior in it, but I do have it! Just wondering what interior I do have (pics attached)?
I will try and keep updating as I am having help with pics now.
Mine is the Velvet Green.

That looks great Martin, so where was that and is it a regular thing maybe ?

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,what’s not to like :)
On the edge of Cannock Chase, near Stafford. Last Tue of every month. Bit of a drive for me ,45 min, but always some cool motors. And a better bunch of people than the clubs near me......No T5/6's!

I've been to a few meets there, good run for me too.

Engine out last week for a Winter rebuild/checkover. Ticked over to 90'000 miles on way home from Ninove in March, so thought it would be a good idea to have a look.

Top end was upgraded to 1641 before I brought it, but bottom end looks **** it hasn't been touched. Original bottom end bearings in there! Looks like I caught them just in time!
Starting to put it all back together in the next few weeks. Then get it run in and Ready for Ninove in March and getting married next Sept' and Mrs wants taking to it in the Bus.

What's the face like on the cam shaft wher it fits in the buggered shell? Could fit a 'warmer' cam while you're in there ;-)

Not too bad. I'm keeping this quite stock. I have a Notchback that I might put some extra work into the engine.

If you want some Type 3 parts, I've some left over from when I put the squareback's engine in the deluxe. Balanced fan and pulley, loads of black powdercoated tin, etc.

I might take you up on that Sparky, currently running without any tinware!

Next set of engine rebuild pics. Coming along slowly but, nicely. Will be ready for Ninove.
