Decided in the end to go down the adjusters route as only wanted to lower about 3.5". Standard dropped spindles wouldn't have been enough and i still would have to fit adjusters to get down a further 1" anyway.

I plan on running the stock 14" wheels and wanted to keep the same size tyre all round so i have a spare rather than a can of tyre foam.

I'm really pleased with how it stands and it's also turned one spline at the rear.

It's still practical unlike my last bus and the suspension travel feels great.

Although they look really cool seriously dropped you have to be practical at times, nice compromisre :D

To me that looks great ,just right to look good and be practical , does it improve the handling ,and make the steering much heavier .Which adjusters were used , and cab you recommend who did it for you.
Sorry for all the questions, my van is a 71 Westy and I think yours looks just how I would like it to look 8) :)

Cheers,

I got the following style of adjusters fitted .

I got them from VW Speedshop at £60 per pair but they were on special offer and think they were the last set !!

Yes the steering is slightly heavier but not much and handles again slightly better when cornering as not as much roll.

I used Manchester Aircooled as close to me and credit to them their work and service was second to none.

If i was based in the South i wouldn't hesitate in going to Mark at The Bus Station.

If you are unsure who to use i would recommend posting a thread for feedback on companies used in your area.

Dropped off Monday morning and collected this morning (Thursday).
The majority of this time was due to waiting for delivery of the shocks from SSP.

The shocks get delivered late Wednesday and Stef fitted them straight away and so i could have collected that day but couldn't make it.

During this time it was locked up secure in his unit.

Did the adjusters actually look like that? or were they cb performance ones?
Haveacamper bought a set from vwspeedshop for £60 and cb ones turned up, they were really ****** looking, teeth didnt mesh properly, they werent evenly cut and they didnt lie flush on the beam, like a school kid had made them (or the previous owner of his van had made them  )
Hes sending them back and is going to pay full whack from coolair or Jk to get better quality.
Just interested to know if yours were different/better.

Stefs a Legend :) , He does a few jobs on my Bay & always follows his work up with a curtisy call to make sure the vans running ok....

Looks spot on, I too want to keep my original wheels and tyres and that height is perfect. I know some people like their busses slammed to the ground but ive been in one and its not a pleasant experience.

To be honest i couldn't tell you.
They got delivered directly to MAC and not even got under the van yet to look at them.
I don't think for a minute that Stef would have fitted them if ***** quality, but i'll be going for a look.

Once saw a stripper (her show was pretty explicit when her friend arrived) in a pub whos stereo had broken the night before, so she brought her daughters barbie cd player with her, just didnt seem right....

what splinage was set at the back, it looks perfect just what i was looking for too.

I have to agree looks a treat, thats more along the lines I was thinking for a drop.... 8)

Not really into slammed busses myself though still admire the eye candy out there and rate the quality of work out there but I like the stock steels and just shave the height a touch....

Agree with everyone - it does look the dogs dangleys. 8)

Take it you haven't changed the shoxs then.
