i ask coz mine does not have one ,and wondered if you are allowed to be legal with no reverse light ,dont wanna chop a hole above original rear lights to put one in really :shock:

No, I think some of the models before 71 don't have them until the larger crossover lights came in! That may of been when they had to come in to play?

I think the reverse light was an optional extra even on my 72 so you dont have to worry if you dont have one you only have to worry about the idiot that cant tell if a car is moving backwards without a light telling them :lol:

hi there, have relation in mot game and the way it goes on reverse lights is simple if it aint got none it dont need none. He was strict on my 72 bay (crossover)but let it go with just one reverse light working as the law only requires one though some can be funny bout it.
How did you find out about your bay in Portugal?

hi Wibbler i was searching all over for a decent panel van and they are like rocking horse **** , found this on the samba .com quality site mostly USA buses but at least they are dry . Bloke i bought it off is a proper VW fan and an English guy , What you got wibbler ?

Weve got a 72 crossover deluxe. Its a right hand drive sunroof model, we was looking for ages for a camper and were always being pipped to the post so ended up buying it on ebay, didnt even bother to go and have a look (very naughty) turned out a decent bus that just needs a little cosmetic fettling. girlfriend uses it all the time now ,work, school run, shopping cant get a look in.

Were in Bury st Edmunds, bus is all white formerly white over blue as the inside of the engine lid etc still shows.
