Hi, I'm trying to replace my hand brake handle but I just can't move the rolled pin holding it on, is there a technique for doing this ?
Any advice gratefully received, thanks. Nick.
I wedged a length of 4x2 timber between the floor and the handle (not obstructing the roll pin!) then assuming you've got a drift or something of the right diameter then you've got something solid to hit against.... worked for me....
I sprayed WD40 on mine first, then it knocked out downwards, but if it's been really knocked in, the end maybe flattened, so it might need knocking upwards, the way it came out.
Cheers fellas, thanks for the advice, I'll have another go at it and update, any tips for fitting the new handle & am I right to think the pin can be reused ?
