Hard brake pedal

The Brake pedal on my 71 LHD bay is extremely hard and takes a lot of pressure before the brake lights activate, The brakes seem to operate ok, and pedal drops slightly when engine starts.this van has disks at front and servo. Any help with this or would it be classed as normal, I am sure the pedal pedal wasn't this hard.

may be that the servo is not working for some reason.?

Sounds like a servo issue.

I was obviously overthinking this problem, replaced the brake light pressure switches, now lights work every time with even low pedal force. Thank you to those who replied.
