Whats the quality like :?:
I notice Heritage do one as well but slightly cheaper, not sure what to do
as I don' want to be dissapointed with the quality.
Andy

i'd be interested in the answer, as most seem to sell the same type by the looks

I found the cheapest one on ebay at £69.99 in P&P

Yeh I've seen them on ebay BUT are they the same?
I've learnt my lessons in the past by buying cheap stuff to find
I get bitterly dissapointed, so now I like to pay that bit extra for quality.

be careful of the cheapos on fleabay

the splines are usually wrong and wont fit erly or late columns, i learnt the hard way but was refunded fast as the seller im sure was aware. I dont know what they fit but it wasnt VW.

the JK one i bought was good quality

Hi Andy, just an option... have you thought about refurbishing an original VW one? I made a how 2 on it,here is the link....

It maybe cheaper & more satisfying that a new repo. Regards - Rob

they are all made by the same people to be honest, early ones didnt have the right spline but that issuse is now sorted, ive got one on mine. its nice enough but an original "feels" better
also ive fitted a few for people and they are a sod to get off again, guess the splines are a just tighter?

i bought two columns a late and early to see if it would fit, something to do with the taper o the shaft wouldnt let it go on either.

To be fair my original one took a lot of persuading to come off, but after reading Doris's post i think i know what route i'll take.

Mine is damaged at the bottom where someone before me used to much persuasion trying to knock it upwards :)

cheers for the info Doris, very informative :)
