Hi everyone.

Just a quick question about my hazards. They were working fine. Then a mate fitted a new radio. Suddenly nothing. The indicators work and the lights on the dash come on but there is no clicking, flashing and the lights externally do nothing.

Could the radio be a coincidence? Anyone have any ideas what the issue maybe?

Many thanks.

Have you checked he fuses I think the second from right is the one that usually goes, maybe your mate touched the emergency switch which is almost just under the radio

I had the exactly the same symptoms and it was the fuse

Ah, this would be a good place to start. I think they're ok but I'll check the fuses to make doubly sure. What's the emergency switch? How do I check it?

Thanks for the reply!

Emergency switch/Hazard switch = same thing difference terminology

The hazard switch simply unscrews out of the dash and the back looks like this, so if any of the connectors where touched by another wire or case of the radio it could have blown the fuse, hazards are always live (which is why you should always disconnect the battery when working on electrics) I doubt its a flasher relay issue as the indicators still work. Make sure all the connectors are plugged into the hazard switch ok and that your mate didn't splice into any wires he shouldn't have

That's amazing!! Thank you so much for that. I'll have a look. The 12v socket doesn't seem to be working witbier so I'll check fuses and connections. If not I'll check he's not cut any wires he shouldn't have!

Really appreciate your help!

I've not been into the van yet. It's a weekend job. I'll let you know

: )

So I've had a look. Fuses seem fine and I can't see and wires that have been cut... Puzzling.

How do I take the unit out to check it?

Many thanks

Which unit, the switch itself ? If so unscrew the knob then remive the escutcheon and the switch should then slide back for removal.

Yes the unit itself. Thank you. It's really strange. The indicator lights come on on the dash but they don't flash. Externally there is nothing but the indicators when used normally are fine.

Thanks.
