Hi looking at changing my exhaust system for a four branch manifold with quiet pack. I've already got the manifold however it doesn't have fitting for heat risers! Does this matter if I blank them off? What is the advantage of them ? Are they needed? Cheers rob

the heat risers/heat exchangers are essential for your passenger compartment heating...... without them you only get ambient temperature plus any heat you get from the sun through the glass

you can blank them off if you want, but you might need to wear more clothes

Do you mean the small vertical extensions to heat the carb inlet manifold? If you are running a stock single carb you run the risk of carb icing, and a little more difficult to start in colder weather.
