Heater switch on dash!!

Hi, does anybody have one of these heater switches on there dash, and knows how the whole set up works!!

Haven't got the elements on the rear glass.. Plus you can pull the switch out and it lights up and it starts to tick! Scary It's some sort of timer!

I have the same switch and it demists my rear window. The ticking does sound scary though :lol:

I just double checked mine but its slightly different, its green with the coil on it but doesnt have the + or the lines on the right. My bad

Can't remember what's on mine from memory but it had an Eberspacher originally and had a timer switch in the same place, which ticked.

Only used it once 'cos the heater sprayed juice everywhere when I did.

If the switch has a huge body behind the mounting panel, then probably heater.

If there's a hole next to one of the rear wheel arches in the angled panel, then that's a fair sign it used to have an EB heater. Also, possibly split fuel tank cover, ducting from engine bay into rear seat area and/or a cable somewhere in between.

Hi jimbly, I've got most of what you have said! But where would the actual heater be situated? Was this a standard set up?

Mine was in the engine bay, opposite side to the battery. Came out to make way for second battery. Ducting ran to the same side through bulkhead, next to fuel tank. You can't miss it - looks like small jet engine...

And I gather it was an option - m code on mine specifies as factory fit (Swedish bus originally)

Definitely haven't got a heater opposite the battery!! it's been taken out (nicked)..plus I have some duct tape on the tin wear cover for the petrol tank on the side where you say the heater should be. I will have to explore beyond the duct tape!!.. I haven't the bus long and it runs sweet, So I haven't had a good old mess yet!

You're more than welcome. You might also have a hole in the panel next to the tinware - this is where the heater exhaust exited and will need blanking off to stop warm aid entering/cold air escaping from the engine bay.

Its a rear screen demister I have one on my bus, the rear screen has elements

I guess then if there's no empty hole, a PO slung the demist switch in to fill the space left by the EB switch, if indeed there was one there at some point.
