Hello guys

I'm new to the forum so i wanted to say hi and show you all my new bus :D

I bought my first own car ever last week, and it's a westy! I'm very enthousiastic about it.

I don't have much experience with old cars yet, but i'm getting some help from my grandfather who was a vw mechanic and who has done his share of restaurations in the past :)

some pictures:

As she came in

After one week of stripping her down

The only thing that doesn't want to come out is the handbrake, someone has som tips for this?

some parts

and i even got a free mice nest!! :?

Looks a great start! Sounds like you're in good hands with your grandfathers help! My old man doesn't know his arse from his elbow mechanics wise so I was on my own till a few forum members popped up locally and all offered to chip in where they can!

It's a great community and I'm sure you'll get all the advice you need!

Nice, What are your plans for it ?
Looks like you got plenty of equipment and space there to get it done, wish I had a garage like that

Thanks guys,

we're planning to do a full restauration, and put it in its original condition for the most part.

we've gotten a little further since my last post so here's an update :)

we 've got some strong winds in belgium

most of the undercoating got scraped off she can be sandblasted

and with the bus on her side it was "easy" to replace a cabin floor panel
