I have just upgraded my generator to and Alternator which went quite well until I found arm on the right hand side off the carb hits the alternator edge as it comes down to full throtle.

As in pic below there is a nut that goes through to plates and it appears to be the nut that hits the alternator.

Can anyone tell me the best wat to solve this so I can get full travel on the accelarator pedal/cable? do I try and bend it or cut it off etc.

Any help much appreciated.

You can reverse the plate on the shaft but most just apply a touch of angle grinder to the alternator casing.

You may need to fit a spacer between the carb and manifold to lift the carb enough so that the arm misses the alternator.

do you know where I can buy the a spacer from is it like the one I found on a US website?

Sorry, I don't know where to get one.
I made one a few years ago from a block of aluminium.

Any half decent engineers will be able make something up for you.
