Hi Everyone,

I've been on this site nearly everyday in the last 6 months and it's been a great help to me in purchasing my Westy and seeking advice when I need it. I'm now asking for a little bit more help :sign0009:

I'm a paramedic working for London Ambulance Service, I work as part of a specialist team called Hazardous Area Response Team aka HART. There are only 15 of these teams in the UK and myself and 3 mates have set ourselves the challenge of cycling to each one of them in aid of Help for Heroes. We set off 21st May this year and return on the 5th June (this year!) and our whole trip is approximately 1200+ miles. I know it's tempting to buy lots of shiny stuff for your vans but if you do have any left over funds burning a hole in your pocket please feel free donate it to our charity. http://www.bmycharity.com/HARTtoHART" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. We are aiming to raise 10k. We have also set up a facebook page should you wish to keep an eye on what we are up to. http://www.facebook.com/pages/LAS-HART-to-HART-for-Help-for-Heroes/126585320779963" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (please like it, the more the merrier, i'm the tall one!) Any support from the Earlybay community would be greatly appreciated and if you see us on your travels give us a toot (and cake)!

I'll keep you posted

Cheers for now :beerchug:

Hi Alex
I too am a paramedic up on the Wirral and in 2009 we also did a bike ride for help the hero's.
I must hasten to add I was only the support driver and med cover but I am ex army. The lads cycling were all ex boot necks and we/they rode from 45 commando arbrough down to Portsmouth think it was 42 or 40 not sure(sorry ex marines) a total of 630 miles in 6 days my mate Eric one of the riders is a team leader in the hart team Liverpool.
We'll have to make a point of meeting up on your journey and if you need anything up this end let me know mate

Good luck

Mark

Thanks for your support Mark. We're going to be arriving in Liverpool on the 26th May, it is a bit of a mammouth leg about 100 miles as we are coming from the Tan Hill Inn (the highest pub in UK!).

I'll keep you posted with any updates. I have designed a poster with detail of our ride, would I be able to email it to you and you stick it up around your Ambo stations and Hospitals if you get a chance?

Cheers

Alex
