HELP NEEDED AT SKEGVEGAS!!!!!

We had a nightmare journey here on Friday with the crewcab running like crap sometimes & being perfect sometimes!!!
I replaced the fuel filter part way here.
Me & the wife stripped & cleaned the carb yesterday & now it won't start, overfuelling like mad !!!!
Petrol dripping out the exhaust!!!!!!!
If we disconnect the fuel pipe & run the petrol into a bottle, the engine will run on what it has already, then if we put the pipe back on it overfuels again!!!!
We're supposed to be leaving for our holidays today!
We unfortunately didn't get round to getting breakdown cover.
Anyone with a spare 31 PICT carb ????
Or any ideas as to what we've done wrong, please feel free to come & help !!!???

Sounds like the float or needle valve to blame? If it's allowing the pump to push more fuel through it that it can hack.

See if anyone has any spare carbs at all. Some of them share the same needle valves and floats

Cleaned the float valve now, changed the oil too!!!
Runs canny!!!
Bit of a **** to start though !?!?
