I need some help again guys! A few days ago I posted that my van is stuck in first and that my gearstick won't shift into any other gear apart from neutral which is where reverse used to be.
Now I got my local garage to have a look at it and they think it's a problem with the shift fork in the gearbox and they don't want to touch it! They disconnected the shift rod at the gearbox end and state they could not move it manually into any gear through the gearbox and told me to collect it! Now I did think myself that the shift rod mechanism looked intact and ok so my question is this..........
Is it gearbox rebuild time ? or would changing the shift fork be easy enough? I take it I'm looking at major expense or does anyone have any other ideas? I have another garage to speak to who I imagine will take it on but I'd like to be better prepared.
