Just print this off (PDF format) fill it out and send it back to get a dating certificate from VAG UK.Apparently it takes up to 3 weeks.The cost is £29.38.

Edit: Update on this,I got my letter back in about 10 days from VAG UK which shows the manufactured date.When I registered my imported Westy,the DVLA accepted this as evidence of first use too.It looks much better on the logbook.
