OK finally got round to opening these and what a bunch of arse.....

the instructions are as clear as ****, anyone else used these and can steer me in the right direction?

so far the upper B post anchor wont swing round past the pressing if I use the indicated spacer, the plastic cover fits like a 4 fingered glove and theres no nut to fit the L bracket and what the **** is that silve bracket for (see the pic in the link) as far as I can see its for a B post fitted lower mount ?

C'mon you so called VW specialist suppliers start fecking supplying **** that fits out of the packaging with fecking instructions that are clear and legible

Having a good day then

Can't help I'm afraid, but shure someone who can will be along soon

OK so been a little creative but there in :x and more importantly safe for my boy......

just pisses me off a bus kit of sorts with instructions that are vague and blatantly show a transmission tunnel and lower B post fitment with items that arent described at all in the instructions.....******s.....

So it wasn't just me. I fitted mine at least 4 times before getting it right... Different length bolts, assorted washers - and as you say, a spare bracket :)

I used a thick washer from the old seatbelt at the top end to space it away from the bits that get in the way. My cover just about fitted, but has fallen off more than once. The little covers for the bolt holding the stalk on dont fit at all, as far as I can see.

But it was worth it to get nice, safe, inertia reel belts....

Nick

Well I got one of the little covers to fit and gave up on the rest.......utter fecking toss I still need to space the upper drivers side out a fraction to allow the guide to swing free and I'm gonna ditch them plastic D covers.... but having tested them out round the village they work  I didnt expect the DC to stop so sharp

"Langauge Timothy!" this is a public forum!
Araon,I bought some from Heritage but not fitted them yet - this doesn't sound good news :x I was going to get some from vw emporium as they were a bit cheaper but he never got back to me after several emails. Have you complained to Heritage/what was their response mate ?

Nah too busy getting covered in petrol and oil  poxy bloody fuel lines were rotten...

the mechs fine and the straps are ok (stalks are fecking long though) its just ***** bloody instructions and the crappy plastic trim pieces that are ill fitting and of course the bizzare choice of bolts and spacers and brackets....

i'm gonna fit mine tomorrow, the stalks do seem a bit long, but the odd thing i have noticed is that the fixing hole is at 90 degrees??? gonna have to bend it or if that doesnt work make some kind of braket up so that it will work, and so that we can catch our legs and ankles on it everythime we go in the walkthrough bit!!

the instructions are wac though,

That sounds odd - mine weren't. And they dont seem too long in practice - brings the socket up to just about seat level.

Can you twist them?

yeah, have to agree the instructions I received reminded me of the instructions you used to get with flat pack furniture and then the fifth rereproduction on ancient 1970s copier ...

They fitted OK in the end, yep there is an additional bracket, but I think that was for fitting them in a beetle, had to use a couple or was it three spacers on the door pillar to prevent the bracket fouling as it twists round.

all in all I thought I'd got what I'd paid for

Fitted mine this morning, no problems at all, didnt even bother looking at the instructions as i think this just make something simple seem complicated.

there were 2 fixing points on the side of my front seat, i used teh lower ones and the buck in the stalk sits at just the right height.

Forgot to say, you were lucky to get some from heritage, they've never got any instock, i got the exact same thing that heritage sell from a place call car and commercial.
