am i right in thinking (as i had assumed) that the holes for fitting interior panels are the same on all buses?

i've got an interior panel set from newton commercial and i'm having trouble, particularly with the tailgate panel. only 4 of the approx 14 holes actually match up and are usable. the other panels are mostly fine, although each one seems to have at leat a couple of holes not matching the body ..... and the side panel behind the driver seat only had two that were any use, luckely the two top corners.

newton have been pretty good, will replace if i can supply a template showing where i want the holes ...... although this is proving difficult as its impossible to draw the holes on the existing panel as i can't see through it!!

they say their panels come from just kampers and they cover them.

anyone with any ideas, help, advice, experience etc??????

my understanding speaking to a trimmer I know is that stuff from JK is crap for lining up - I dont know as I tend to wait for 2nd hand or get mine repaired...

its a bit annoying really. you'd expect a company like them to at least be able to line up some holes. and they must have had people complain before ........ unless the holes are in different places on different vans?

most panels you buy dont have the holes in the right place.you need to send them an original to look at.
it is stupid its not as if its hard to copy an original.and the jk ones are the worst :!: :!:

if your going to sell them get them right people arhhh :D

well, i'm going to try to make a paper template and somehow put something in the holes in the van with some paint on the ends .... press the paper onto it and get an impression of where the holes actually are. then draw a set of holes on the inside of those for where i want the holes. thats the plan anyway.

unless anyone has a template i could use?

the holes in the panel i have are ridiculously close to the edge too. with the clips in, lots of pressure on the edges of the vinyl.

i had a thought too ..... maybe i could get a pre cut panel from somewhere, saw this at coolcampers for £9:

although, to be honest, these holes look too close to the edge too. anyone had success with pre cut panels?

The holes shouldn't line up exactly,if you use the correct clips to put it on you will find once fitted they will line up with the body work as they are offset from the stamped holes due to them being folded over the board. You can get some slight adjustment on them by rotating them around if they do not line up.

I have the picture in my head, it just sounds like bollocks when I write it

yes, i think that is part of the problem. on the JK ones i got from newton only 4 of the holes are offset in a reasonable place to the left/right of the hole in the bus. the rest are either right on the hole .... or nowhere near.

this is probably of no use to you, but i found tmi lined up ok, with some offsets/rotations as described by matty

who do sell good unlined panels then, as one of mine has got wet and badly warped :(

i initially enquired about tmi panels but was put pff by the time it would take to get them.

like you, i'm very interested to hear recommendations for unlined panels.
