Got home yesterday from our first road trip in our panel, 1100km around Belgium and Holland, with our friends in their '55 kombi.
Left last weekend on the Hull - Zebrugge ferry and returned on the Rotterdam - Hull route. Both recommended because they are overnight crossings so you arrive ready to rock and roll.
We visited Kortessem in Belgium where the bus spent most of it's life, the 'Cafe Sportwereld' advertised on the sliding door is still there and it was great to stop in for a drink. When I showed the bus to the barman, he showed me this pic hanging in the bar.....How happy was I!

In this area of Belgium they are bicycle racing mad, and every sunday they have a race leaving Kortessem. Our van was used as the pace car at the head of the race, with all the local businesses advertised on it. Apparently the guy now has a T4 painted up the same, unfortunatly he couldn't come to meet us but it was really nice to learn some more about our van.
We drove up to the Dutch coast near Amsterdam and it was awesome, great beaches and nice weather.
TIP. Both Dutch and Belgian roads have LOADS of speed bumps, sometimes even at major road juctions!! If your bus is lower than ours you may struggle, we were just ok on the most Everest like ones.
We all had a fantastic time and the bus never missed a beat. Roll on the next trip! 8)
