just had the van go through the mot today and it passed and when i checked last years odometer reading i have covered a mere 894 miles,540 of which have been me running a new engine in this year since easter time when all the road salt was washed away.

i'm guessing this is an  amount of low miles for a classic vw or is there some of you who do even less??

i would like to use it alot more but finding the weather and petrol money is never easy, saying that last year was a wash out.

anyone else out there like me who will not take it out in the salt or does not do high mileages????

We have put in over 6000 in the first year of ownership!

We done 15000 miles in our late bay in 3 years like, all with no AA cover

Don't think I even run the engine in on the splitty before it had to go the journey to something more used friendly!!!

I think my current bus must have clocked up 50 mile in & out the garage so far, not bad for a bus with no engine!!!!

Mine will be (hopefully) doing 1500 miles in July alone. :)

In the 90s, it did nearly 18,000 miles one year with a previous owner. :)

showed Zero miles for quite a few MOT's , broken speedo

then a minus 18000 something as replaced speedo with a speedo that did 10 miles
On last warning from the Garage as needs to have a working speedo these days so logged as 1 mile

realistically about 1500 miles

Just over 3700 last year, tootling about the shows and camping whenever the rain would let us.

The previous owner clocked up over 56000 in 2002. Is this a record?

56000 in a year  yikes that's some going, over a 1000 a week 8)

Done about 4000 in 2 1/2 years

1800 on one holiday also used daily, so far 5500 and mot in september, through the winter was not good but the rest fab :D i have a motorbike with about 20 mile from last mot and thats for sale. pointless to own a vehicle and not use.. there dear toys to look at i think.

Year before last I did 26,000 miles in my bay...I was living in it too that year! :D
(With only one breakdown...a spark plug came unscrewed!)

a shocking 300 miles in the last 12 months and 3000 miles in total since owning it nov 2009. we have been a fair few shows in it and camping trips. perhaps the 46000 on the clock might be real mileage. Will be doing more this year hopefully closer to the 4-5 k

I've put tiny little tyres on mine noo !!
Will that affect the odometer??
Or just the speedometer?

I remember 2 fellas at work having a heated discussion as to little wheels versus big wheels doing the same journey in less miles!!!!

Pens, pritsticks n rolls of tape were all used to demonstrate the point!!!

Just a thought - I'm insured for 15,000 miles a year -are you all covered for the mileage you are doing and what are the implications of going over what you are insured for ?
