OK, WANTING TO LOWER MY BUS, AN REALLY LIKE THE SLAMMED LOOK, HOW MANY SPLINES DOWN DO I NEED 2 GO, AND WILL I HAVE 2 REPLACE MY SHOCKS? ANY INFO OR PICS WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS

im down 2 splines, on standard shocks

was on 3 splines before my resto, but it was far to low for speed bumps on my road, kept hitting my single quiet pack, and knocking the 4 into 1 off the header

2 splines at the rear, adjusterrs up front

3 splines at the rear, looked cool, rides a bit hard

its still a hardish ride, but its my first bus, so ive nothing to compare it too really, got porsche highbacks, so they are quite comfy

I always thought one outer spline was an 'average' drop, and two for a more severe drop that was a little harsh and meant the rear wheel struggles to be removed!

1 spline is more on the very earl bays than the later stuff so ive been informed, so depends what year youve got?
Mines 1 spline at the rear and lowered to level at the front. Rides on standard shocks and is a really nice ride.

It's a tricky one - many vans 'sag' over the years so there's no hard and fast rule!

My theory - try it dropped by 2 splines first (he who dares, wins) and see how it looks - it isn't too difficult to do and once you've done it the first time you won't be scared to do it again to get it just right (and it won't take you long second time around either).

Don't forget to take some measurements and before/after piccies!

;)
