That's a nice looking bus. I love that seat with headrest.

Me and hubby want a 68 because we were both born in 68 and it would be really cool to have one the same age as us. Not sure what reg though as I'm an F plate and he's a G. We could always have one each, maybe buy a couple of good resto projects and see who can get on the road first!

It is a very nice bus indeed.

But TBH I've never been all that keen on pop-tops. I prefer the clean lines of a tin-top :)

I also agree that tin tops look better, however they just aren't as bloody practical if used for camping.

It's so nice been able to stand up inside without having to crawl around especialy having two children to look after.

Of all the pop tops the devon is my fave and the viking is my worst...

but just love the tin top lines - saying that by the time I get my mutha of a rack and top box on you loose the lines I suppose :? theres always a flaw somewhere in my arguements.....

I had a 74 westy and never raised the roof on it it came with it and just lived with it...

i agree i love devons and a close second are dormys, but tintop lines look hardest if your gonna slam it, especially PVs

Tin tops look good, just as a split looks good. It's a little like a woman insisting on wearing a short skirt and stilletto shoes....she looks good but perhaps not very practical when camping :? I love my pop-top :D

Having owned a tin top i'd never go back.

I consider the westy the most practical of all pop tops as apposed to other conversions. Not only does the design follow the whole roof line you benefit from a built in rear rack as standard.

The whole westy conversion is very user friendly, however is typical German in design. I love Devon conversions as they are so English unlike the laminated units I have in mine.

If only a conversion was made with the German practicality together with a typical English twist.

I like the tin top look too, they do look better especially lowered.I just need the extra sleeping space that an elevating roof gives.Came in handy at Hook arena,it was too wet to bother putting the awning up so just put the roof up and little one can sleep on the hammock!

Was there some early bay westfalias that had the Martin Walter Dormy roof?
