Must be the season for injuring oneself.

Thursday afternoon coming home from work on the honda vtr1000sp2, came to an S bend in the single track road on the way to my house. Hard on the brakes about to drop into the corner, and what comes steaming the other way, a tractor towing a trailer that filled the lane  , managed to miss the tractor doing about 40 hard on the brakes, but there was no way I was going to miss the trailer. So dodged left and hit the mud at the edge of the road, Interesting sensation skating along grass at 40 MPH on your ass.

Ended up with loads of bruises and some pulled ligaments in my right shoulder, bike came off better than me which is a change from last time.

not in the same leauge but i got metal from poking round under a bus land in my eye.
bugger wouldnt come out, eye wash, lid pulling nothing helped
that was yesterday, woke up today with my eye sealed shut, all crystallised n gooey! feels like the cruds out but still blurry!
bloody vans!

Hardest thing in life, coming to terms with our age. I used to ride this:

Went out a couple of years ago when my wife was 8 months pregnant, came off because I was acting like a ****

Tore the ligaments that hold down my right clavicle (collar bone) so it now sticks up, nice. I was in trouble with the wife and off work for two months.

Would I change the past though....................No way Hosoi!

Now stick to Skateboarding, Windsurfing and Surfing. The falls hurt slightly less! I enjoy the odd tattoo too!

SORRY, JUST READ YOU ONLY WANTED STORIES FROM THIS WEEK. TOOK ME A WHILE TO WRITE THIS THOUGH SO I'LL LEAVE IT

oh dear you broke the rules!
go stand in the corner

Well not quite the same but on the track last night, went over on my ankle face planted into the ballast stood up without realising my foot hadnt returned to its designated location on the joint, screamed in pain effectively after putting my weight on the ankle joint itself, fell and face planted again, drove home very tentatively......

ouch!

Technically may not count.....but my dog fell down the stairs tonight and is now limping and hiding under the sofa :( - the out of hours vet though is going to make a serious dent in my van money so the dogs going to have to be brave until Monday!

(joking aside - she does seem better and has stopped limping now so have saved myself some serious wedge by waiting 30 mins! )

when i read the title i thought you were gay, lol. Hurting your self doing things you should have grown out of is the key !!! 10 out of 10 mate, play young stay young

I drilled into the bone in my thumb on Wednesday!!

Hilly_70 kindly made me a new accelerator link bar which I fitted on Wed/Thur. Cut the old one off, when drilling the remaining part out of the end piece that attaches to the linkage, the drillbit snapped and the drill jumped and landed in the centre of my thumb nail and fractured my bone!

Lesson learnt, pay more for better tools!

Best injury i've ever had was at school. Was doing track and field at high school, running down the 100m track and a **** who i did'nt really get on with thought he would lace me across the head with a hockey stick. The combined impact of me running like hell and the swing of the stick resulted in be doing a back flip and landing on my front. This act of kindness got me 11 stiches, a crack above my right eye, could'nt see out of that eye for 2 weeks and a month off school. And to top it all off i lost the race! Got him back though 2 months later, me and my mate jason gave him a ******* good kick in the metal work room :D

The hardest justice in life is experienced in the schoolyard

i had a flatmate who has a famous dad who was Ulster champ and North West 200 (best road race in the world ;) ) winner a few times. Hes followed in his dads footsteps and road races and does alot of offroad as well, he overshot a table jump by about 30 feet and landed on the handle bar end.... result was several broken ribs and a collasped/punctured lung. Hes still at it.

He has a chest scar that looks like a bullet wound, and being from northern ireland he always pretends the same. He was good at pulling the birds with... "would you like to see my scar?"

Continuing to ignore the 'this week' rule,
about 4th year at the comp, Pete 'Hoots' O' Halloran launched the javelin with his usual gusto, just as Ian Gresham wandered aimlessly across the expected landing area of said javelin. I can see now his legs buckling and arms shoot skywards as the javelin his his right shoulderblade, momentarilly stayed put then fell out.
Lucky, lucky, lucky *******. For a person who has just walked in front of airborne javelin that is.
Oh, and a while back I slipped with a drill and went a good way through my left palm. The skin/flesh was all curly and corkscrew like.

Same thing happened at my school except the javelin wasnt coming out  and it was a deliberate attempt to spook someone
