In the summer I replaced all my heating pipes as they were corroded and decided to fit a cheap ebay bilge pump on the piping underneath the cab to boost airflow. Similar to the bluebird customs one. It worked great for thirty minutes and then melted!

My question is, have people got experience with http://www.t7design.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=87&products_id=235" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ? Do people think it would take the heat?

If all your heat pipes are in order and you have no leaks, then being stock should do just fine. I get a decent amount of air through mine. Obviously if you want a bit more push in tick over, then an in line can't hurt.

I assume by bilge pump you mean something like this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Marine-In-Line-Blower-12V-4-Bilge-Head-Galley-Engine-Ventilation-Cooling-Fan-/161219720886?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_BoatEquipment_Accessories_SM&hash=item258971b6b6" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

270cfm is a far higher airflow than the one mentioned from T7, which is only 87cfm. To me it just looks like a standard pc case cooling fan, with a alloy housing, the fan is all plastic same as a bilge fan, i suspect may only last the same amount of time. maybe you need to use a car heating blower, or something with a metal fan?

The late bay's have a fan set up in the engine room, maybe get all of this kit, works for VW.....

I find the stock setup ok on a run, it is seriously hot coming out at the windscreen, you really can't hold your hand there for more than 5 seconds, not much cop when stationary, no air flow with low revs, hence the late bay one might work well for you.

Leaky old door seals dont help when it's cold either....

Cheers,

Alistair
