I've just treated myself to a used pair of the metal chrome finish inner door handle trims to replace my black plastic ones.

They came with black plastic inserts.

The problem is they don't seem to fit over the screw which retains the metal portion.(fit perfectly without screw)

I am re-using the screw that held the old plastic trims.

Is there a shallower screw I should be using ?.

Should there be (or should I drill) a hole in the plastic trim and screw through it ?.

A minor problem I know but a tricky sucker :? .

Thanks

does the screw sit flat against the inner chrome or does the top of the screw stick up some? can you post a pic of the chrome piece and screw installed. if you have the wrong screw i can send you 2 of them. do not screw a hole in the black plastic piece

the screws in the pic you sent me are the wrong ones. pm me your mailing address and i will send you 2 of the correct ones
