Hi Guys,
Well it looks like I've found my Bus, it's a 69 cal import Westy pop top. I'm looking to collect it very soon (probably friday). Next question, INSURANCE!

Who, how much should I expect to pay etc.

I'm 33, what should I expect to pay. Also, it's value now is a lot less than when I've had it modded, will this effect the insurance?

I'll let you all know some more about the bus soon, I just need to get this sorted and your help would be cool.

Cheers

you probably want to get an agreed value classic policy with someone like hic, sureterm, adrian flux, footman james & others ive forgotten (RH?)
Phone em all and get quotes - make sure they are offering the same benefits - breakdown cover, agreed value etc
Theres a bad story to be told for just about all of the above insurers so I guess go with whatever you think gives the best cover, others will be along presently to provide more insight into them (ive never had to claim for the van).

My premium is ~£200 for an agreed value of £12k with footman james (I have some points tho).

trying to upload pics but can't; this comes up.

'Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached'.

HELP

I;m insured with Sureterm.
Just under £200, agreed value of £4500 (less than its worth but once i have completed interior upgrades and had a respray i will get a insurance approved valuation and up the agreed value).
I'm also 33, 3 points and have the wife as a named driver. Fully comp and parked on driveway. No MODS (yet)

Mines £200 with Footman James as 2nd car and zero no-claims. I'm 28 with 3 points and keep the car in a private garage.

With FJ I get unlimited mileage and free European breakdown cover.

Mine is £126 with rh insurance. Fully comp with european breakdown cover for me and the mrs. it's currently kept on the drive but when i move it's going in the garage. I will see about an agreed valuation when it's it's resprayed and the interior is sorted. But they accepted my valuation of £8500 over the phone. I know it will be a matter of debate if something happened but i hope it doesn't come to that.
