I have just heard of what sounds like magical place
:lol:
Apparently on sat or Sunday every week there is an unofficial street market in Islington were the only thing for sale is 2nd hand VW.
It's our aussie cousins selling there busses used around Europe before they go home to other Aussies going off to tour Europe.

Has anyone heard of this? Surely it will be a Mecca for us lot, if true I'm going down just to look :D :msn4:

I knew it was a thing a few years ago, its featured on the 'Cars The Star' video on You Tube. I'd assumed it wouldnt be the same any more as prices have risen?

The Aussie camper sales pop up in different places over London, used to be York Way north of Kingscross, then on the Southbank, but you'll find its all Mazda Bongos & Toyota Hiaces, used to have a few old VW LT35;s until the LEZ exiled them outside the M25

Same happens over in Sydney Australia. For years backpackers have been camping up in Kings cross untill they sell their campervans to the next travellers. Local government got involved and it's now a little more formal and organised. http://www.travellers-autobarn.com.au/blog/press-release-sydney-travellers-car-market-will-be-run-managed-by-the-management-team-behind-travellers-auto-barn/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Yep kings cross was the place (n. london). Every Sunday morning. Has not been there for years. Some of the converted ambulances were amazingly done and drove for ever. The vw's got less and less but it has totally gone now.
